The 40th CITAC Member’s Web Meeting was held on 13 May 2025. There were 11 participants.
After opening of the meeting the participants the remembering Prof Wolfhard Wegscheider. The Chair of CITAC Zoltan Mester gave the short information about Prof Wolfhard Wegscheider and his comtribution in the activity of CITAC.
The continuous of the meeting the Vice-Chair of the CITAC Ricardo Da Silva introduced a new CITAC member, Elcio de Oliveira. And Elcio de Oliveira introduced himself and expressed his appreciation for the nomination.
In the meeting were reported:
• presented an update on the upcoming issue of CITAC News, scheduled for publication in 2025. A discussion followed regarding the possibility of assigning a DOI to the publication;
• reported ongoing issues with the CITAC website domain. The site has been moved to a new domain and is now accessible at www.citac.group;
• presented the number of nominations and announced the winners of the CITAC Best Paper 2024;
• presented the Financial report;
• presented a proposal to transfer CITAC’s financial management to FIPFARMA
about proposal for CITAC Liaison at ILAC.
As well as were presented summaries reports of CITAC representatives at the:
CCQM, ISO/ REMCO, Eurachem, IUPAC, APMP, EURAMET, AFRIMETS
The CITAC members reported summaries of the activities of the following Eurachem/CITAC working groups:
• Measurement Uncertainty and Traceability;
• Qualitative Analysis;
• Eurachem WG on Reference Materials;
• Uncertainty from sampling working group.
Discussion about future CITAC events/promotion of CITAC
• Presentation and discussion of the CITAC best papers 2023;
• Online EURACHEM/CITAC Workshop on qualitative RMs;
• The 40th CITAC Members’ Meeting;
• Eurachem/CITAC Workshop: Accreditation of Chemical Tests – Technical Challenges (11 & 12 May 2026) (Eurachem Workshop 2026);
• Other meetings;
• Other promotional activities.
As the results of the Meeting:
• The Financial report was approved by members;
• The proposal to transfer CITAC’s financial management to FIPFARMA was approved with 10 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions. Members will be formally informed of the decision prior to implementation;
• Ricardo Silva was designated as the interim liaison of CITAC at ILAC;
• To contact Eurachem secretariat to formalize the CITAC indication in participation in activities of the Qualitative Analysis and Uncertainty from sampling Eurachem working groups.
• Proposed to organize the CITAC Members’ Meeting be held in person or in a hybrid format on Saturday, April 11, 2026, immediately following the CCQM meeting.
